Would you like to be part of one of the UK’s largest electricity transmission infrastructure programmes?
We are recruiting for a Project Administrator to support delivery on a major National Grid programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing project team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of complex infrastructure works.
Working alongside the Project Director and wider delivery team, you will contribute to a dynamic environment supporting major transmission and digital substation projects. The position offers broad exposure across project coordination, reporting, and document control, with excellent opportunities to develop into Project Management, Project Controls, or Document Control disciplines.
Role Responsibilities
Provide administrative and coordination support to the Project Director and leadership team.
Function as a central coordination point for administrative and project support activities.
Organise and coordinate project meetings, workshops, and reviews.
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and action trackers, ensuring timely follow-up.
Maintain accurate project records, correspondence, and filing systems in line with governance standards.
Support the preparation and distribution of project reports, dashboards, and presentations.
Manage and track project documentation through electronic document management systems (EDMS)
Monitor document workflows, including review and approval processes.
Ensure documentation complies with client and company requirements.
Support onboarding activities and maintain project contact lists.
Coordinate travel, logistics, and day-to-day administration for the project team.
Maintain and update project trackers, registers, and dashboards.
Consult with internal teams, supply chain partners, and client representatives to manage information flow.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project administration and information management processes.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Experience in a project administration, coordination, or document control role
Previous experience supporting construction, engineering, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
Strong experience in:
Coordinating meetings and workshops
Preparing meeting minutes and action trackers
Managing project documentation and records
Good understanding of document control processes, version control, and governance standards
Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder project environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Experience using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
Ability to maintain trackers, registers, and reporting tools.
Viewpoint for Projects (VFP)
Experience in SharePoint, Power BI (basic knowledge), Microsoft Planner and Adobe Acrobat
Advanced Apprenticeship, A Level, or equivalent qualification

About the Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.

Key Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Relevant technical qualifications in Construction Management, Commercial Surveying, or relevant technical trade.
- Proven track record operating on UK construction sites or major infrastructure frameworks.
- Knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental standards (CDM regulations, CSCS, IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Strong communication, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits Guidance
Estimated Remuneration: GBP £42,000 - £60,000 per annum (competitive market rate commensurate with experience)
