Role Overview
You will serve as an ENGINEER in the SENSORS WEAPONS & LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band or grade level (GS-9/11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying mechanical, electrical and systems engineering principles and knowledge to evaluate and coordinate engineering projects and resources for the resolution fleet weapon system problems. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will provide planning and technical project direction to branch personnel including daily management of branch projects, assignment of tasks, mentoring of team members, and provide technical leadership for multiple launching systems.
You will perform professional engineering work involving complex and integrated projects for all phases in the life cycle: design, development, modernization, sustainment, functionality, test, evaluation or integration of combat weapons systems.
You will ensure compliance to requirements from the branch level through department of Defense level requirements.
You will develop and maintain processes and procedures while ensuring proper level of compliance.
You will develop and implement technical engineering requirements as well as serve as steward of safety and effectiveness.
