Information Manager – Business Intelligence

We are looking for an ambitious Information Manager (Business Intelligence) to join our team on National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade (GGP) Framework, a programme that will help modernise the UK’s energy network and support the transition to a low-carbon future.
Reporting to the GGP PMO Lead, you will play a key role in developing and managing programme reporting across the framework, supporting Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements, and delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions. Working across both ECI and delivery stages, you will provide accurate, data-driven insights that support effective decision-making and successful project delivery.
Role Responsibilities
Own and maintain the reporting Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) across the Great Grid Upgrade framework.
Implement and manage consistent reporting processes across multiple projects and programmes.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support project and programme performance monitoring.
Capture, manage and analyse project data to provide meaningful business insights.
Support the implementation of programme controls and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting requirements.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting systems.
Collaborate with project, commercial and PMO teams to gather, validate and interpret performance data.
Produce regular performance reports and dashboards for internal and client stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, tools, and data management practices.
Support informed decision-making through the provision of timely and accurate management information.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Experience developing and managing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
Strong knowledge of Power Query and DAX.
Experience capturing, analysing, and managing project performance data.
Construction or infrastructure industry experience.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present meaningful insights.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across project teams.
Knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and reporting.
Awareness of APM project management methodologies.
Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or utility programmes.
Degree qualified or equivalent relevant experience.

About the Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.

Key Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Relevant technical qualifications in Construction Management, Commercial Surveying, or relevant technical trade.
- Proven track record operating on UK construction sites or major infrastructure frameworks.
- Knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental standards (CDM regulations, CSCS, IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Strong communication, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits Guidance
Estimated Remuneration: GBP £45,000 - £65,000 per annum (competitive market rate commensurate with experience)
