We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) / Site Agent to join our team on the DWNO Framework, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
Join a landmark infrastructure project delivering critical upgrades to Scottish Power Transmission’s (SPT) network. Morgan Sindall is seeking a skilled Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) / Site Agent to play a key role in the delivery of substation upgrades and overhead line (OHL) replacement works on the DWNO project.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join at an exciting stage of the project, with the chance to influence detailed design and support the transition into construction. You will be part of a collaborative delivery team, ensuring temporary works are safely and effectively coordinated across complex, live electrical environments. Role Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the TWC / Site Agent will be responsible for coordinating and managing all temporary works activities across the project lifecycle, while also overseeing site engineers and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
include:
Coordinate all temporary works in accordance with BS 5975 and company procedures.
Maintain and manage the Temporary Works Register for your area.
Categorise temporary works (Category 0–3) and ensure appropriate design checks are completed.
Ensure all temporary works designs are reviewed, approved, and safely implemented.
Issue and manage Permits to Load, Unload, and Proceed
Interface with internal and external designers on temporary works solutions, including:
Scaffolding and access systems
Excavation support and trenching systems:
Crane foundations and lifting platforms.
OHL foundations, rigging, and stringing arrangements
Review design deliverables for constructability, compliance, and risk.
Ensure robust risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are in place.
Conduct site inspections and verify works are installed as per approved designs.
Ensure competent Temporary Works Supervisors (TWS) are appointed and supported.
Stop works if temporary works are deemed unsafe or non-compliant.
Collaborate closely with project teams to integrate temporary works into construction sequencing and outage planning.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification (CITB or equivalent)
Valid CSCS Card (appropriate level)
Full UK Driving Licence
Experience in the construction industry
Proven experience working as a Temporary Works Coordinator
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
Solid knowledge of BS 5975
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and temporary works designs.
Experience within civil engineering, design, or construction management.
Familiarity with lifting operations and crane management
Experience working within the UK energy sector.
Understanding of high-voltage electrical infrastructure environments
Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer status (ICE/IStructE)
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Key Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Relevant technical qualifications in Construction Management, Commercial Surveying, or relevant technical trade.
- Proven track record operating on UK construction sites or major infrastructure frameworks.
- Knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental standards (CDM regulations, CSCS, IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Strong communication, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits Guidance
Estimated Remuneration: GBP £45,000 - £65,000 per annum (competitive market rate commensurate with experience)
