This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their engineering and construction knowledge while taking on increasing levels of responsibility within a growing sector.
As part of the Site Delivery Team, you will support the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of overhead line and enabling works projects. Reporting directly to a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Construction Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, designers, and specialist suppliers to coordinate day-to-day site activities and ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Role Responsibilities
Support the Project Engineer in the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction activities.
Monitor site works to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Assist in the management and coordination of subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
Coordinate and monitor enabling works, including temporary access works, vegetation clearance, trackway installation, and scaffold management.
Ensure site inspections, records, and quality documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist with the preparation and implementation of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and work packs.
Identify, report, and escalate engineering, programme, quality, or safety issues as required.
Consult with designers, supervisors, and operational teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
Provide day-to-day guidance and support to apprentices, helping to develop their technical knowledge, practical skills, and understanding of safe working practices.
Promote a positive safety culture and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop knowledge across all enabling works disciplines and overhead line construction activities to support future career progression.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Advanced Apprenticeship, A-Level qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience working on civil engineering, utilities, transmission, or infrastructure construction projects.
Experience supervising, coordinating, or monitoring site-based activities.
Good understanding of construction health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
Effective communication, organisational, and critical thinking skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
An initiative-taking attitude and willingness to develop technical knowledge across enabling works and overhead line construction disciplines.
Understanding of construction methods and engineering principles relevant to infrastructure projects.
Experience or familiarity with one or more of the following: temporary access works, vegetation management, trackway systems, or scaffold management.
Knowledge of RAMS and their practical application on construction projects.
Understanding of quality assurance processes and documentation requirements.
Experience working within the electricity transmission sector.
Knowledge of National Grid and/or other Transmission Network Operator (TNO) standards and requirements.
