Key Requirements:Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview

You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Sensor Integration and Technology Department (LX), Radar Technologies Division (LXL), Antenna and Mechanical Engineering Branch (LXLX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer, demonstrating operational and technical knowledge of all aspects of Department of War antenna and apertures technologies within Radar, Electronic Warfare, and communication systems for improved efficiency and execution of program operations in alignment with mission requirements. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will serve as the principal technical authority and senior advisor on advanced antenna and aperture technologies for the Radar Technologies Division.

You will deliver critical technical and programmatic governance across the Radar Technologies Division, as well as various Program Executive Offices.

You will be responsible for overseeing the development of innovative capabilities to fulfill requirements, leading high-performing, cross-functional teams both internal and external to NSWC Crane.

You will devise novel engineering methods, procedures, and standards that exert agency-wide influence on antenna and aperture technologies.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives and provide authoritative government expertise on electromagnetic technology and evaluation.

You will provide strategic policy direction, technical oversight, and rigorous assessment of the Division’s overall antenna and aperture capabilities.

You will provide mentorship and strategic leadership to internal and external engineering communities in the areas of antenna and aperture systems, modeling, and test methodologies.
