Key Responsibilities & Scope
The role / impactYou'll engineer AI-enabled solutions that make Xero's Productivity and Collaboration ecosystem smarter, safer and more scalable. You'll solve complex technical problems, contribute to engineering standards, and support other team members whilst building integrations, workflows, and guardrails that connect internal AI tools to the right systems and data. This role acts as a key point of contact for our production environment-you'll own significant technical challenges rather than work through a support queue.Your technical work will focus on current projects rather than routine tasks. You'll shape how AI tools interact with our productivity ecosystem, working across tools like Atlassian, Google Workspace, and Slack. Whilst mentoring is encouraged, this position is designed for people who want to stay hands-on and technical.The team / how they connectThe Productivity and Collaboration team (PAC) is responsible for keeping Xero's internal productivity ecosystem running smoothly and innovatively. We work collaboratively across regions, primarily Australia and New Zealand, with active partnerships with teams in the US and Canada. Our team is diverse, supportive, and committed to solving technical challenges that matter.The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus onEngineering AI-enabled automation that reduces manual toil and improves efficiencyBuilding and maintaining integrations across Atlassian, Google Workspace, Slack, and emerging AI toolsCo
Candidate Qualifications & Profile
- Proven experience operating within high-impact industry or enterprise environments.
- Relevant degree or recognized professional accreditation in Cloud Accounting & SaaS.
- Strong collaborative problem-solving skills and dedication to technical or operational excellence.
Compensation Guidance (AUD)
Salary Range: AUD $1,40,000 - $1,89,000 / year (commensurate with skills & experience).
- Includes standard Australian statutory superannuation (11.5%+), health & wellness allowances, and professional progression pathways.
