The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major National Grid infrastructure project based in Oswestry. This is a high-profile scheme within an ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) environment, offering long-term work certainty over the next 4–5 years.
This role provides the chance to take ownership of a significant energy project in a central location, with clear visibility and exposure to senior leadership. You’ll report directly to the Senior Operations Manager for the Northwest region, with a clear line of sight to the England & Wales Energy Director, creating excellent opportunities for career progression within a major programme.
Key responsibilities
Lead the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project from pre-construction through to completion
Manage programme, budget, risk, and stakeholder engagement across all project phases
Drive performance across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safety, quality, and commercial objectives are met
Work closely within an ECI framework, influencing design, planning and delivery strategies
Provide regular reporting to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives
What we’re looking for
Proven experience in a Senior Project Manager role within infrastructure or energy projects
Strong background working with National Grid or similar utilities frameworks
Experience across substations, underground cabling, or overhead line (OHL) projects
Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness

About our Energy business unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.

Key Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Relevant technical qualifications in Construction Management, Commercial Surveying, or relevant technical trade.
- Proven track record operating on UK construction sites or major infrastructure frameworks.
- Knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental standards (CDM regulations, CSCS, IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Strong communication, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits Guidance
Estimated Remuneration: GBP £55,000 - £78,000 per annum (competitive market rate commensurate with experience)
