We are looking for an experienced Site Agent to join our team on the MetroWest programme, leading the delivery of a key railway station package. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role on a high-profile rail project, managing works from construction through to successful completion.
As Site Agent, you will be responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery, ensuring programme, commercial and operational objectives are achieved. Collaborating closely with clients, supply chain partners, and project teams, you will play a vital role in enhancing regional connectivity and delivering lasting benefits to local communities.
This position offers the opportunity to further develop your leadership capabilities while contributing to a complex and rewarding rail infrastructure programme.
Role Responsibilities
Lead the safe and successful delivery of railway station construction works.
Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered to programme, budget and quality requirements.
Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Drive compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and construction sequencing.
Monitor programme performance and proactively manage risks and opportunities.
Ensure robust commercial management, including cost control and change management.
Maintain effective relationships with clients, Network Rail representatives and supply chain partners.
Support project reporting and provide clear progress updates to senior leadership.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Proven experience managing the construction and delivery of railway station projects.
Strong project management experience within the rail infrastructure sector.
Exceptional understanding of quality management processes and construction assurance.
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project costs, risks, and opportunities.
Previous experience working as a Site Agent or in a similar site leadership role.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, live operational environment.
PTS (Personal Track Safety).
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
AP (Appointed Person) certification or equivalent.
Full UK driving licence.
Professional membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE) or working towards chartership.
Experience delivering projects within Network Rail standards and procedures.
Experience working on major rail infrastructure programmes.

Key Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Relevant technical qualifications in Construction Management, Commercial Surveying, or relevant technical trade.
- Proven track record operating on UK construction sites or major infrastructure frameworks.
- Knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental standards (CDM regulations, CSCS, IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Strong communication, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits Guidance
Estimated Remuneration: GBP £45,000 - £65,000 per annum (competitive market rate commensurate with experience)
