Key Responsibilities & Scope
The role & ImpactThis is a rare chance to shape the strategy behind Xero's cloud platform at a pivotal moment. As Head of Product for Cloud Engineering, you'll lead a team of product managers across three portfolios: Build & Run, Cloud Capabilities, and Database Engineering. You'll set the direction for major initiatives including our multi-region cloud platform and the migration from SQL Server to Aurora Postgres, while partnering closely with Engineering leadership to bring these to life.Beyond the roadmap, you'll help define what it means to build a platform for an agentic future, redefining how Xero's product engineering teams are supported as AI reshapes the way we work. Your impact will be felt across the whole business, as the foundations you help build become the building blocks for everything else Xero does.The team & how they connectCloud Engineering is a newly formed team spanning Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the US, working across 12 engineering teams. In this role, you will lead product managers, based across ANZ and North America.The team is currently working on Modernising our database infrastructure, leading the shift from SQL Server to Aurora PostgresDelivering a multi-region cloud platform to support Xero's global growthEvolving the platform to be agent-first, supporting a new way of working as AI changes product engineeringWhere and how you can workWe support a flexible working model that empowers you to balance your professional and pers
Candidate Qualifications & Profile
- Proven experience operating within high-impact industry or enterprise environments.
- Relevant degree or recognized professional accreditation in Cloud Accounting & SaaS.
- Strong collaborative problem-solving skills and dedication to technical or operational excellence.
Compensation Guidance (AUD)
Salary Range: AUD $1,05,000 - $1,41,750 / year (commensurate with skills & experience).
- Includes standard Australian statutory superannuation (11.5%+), health & wellness allowances, and professional progression pathways.
